Interim CFO for Midcap Canadian FinTech Company

The founder of a Canada-based financial software company sought an interim CFO to oversee day-to-day operations of the finance function and support an upcoming capital raise during an immediate leadership gap. While circumstances didn’t allow for a permanent search at the time, the firm needed someone strong in FP&A—particularly with B2C SaaS companies—and preferred candidates experienced in debt and equity fundraises.

Business Talent Group (BTG) connected the client with a former Bain strategy consultant with extensive finance and corporate development expertise at the executive level. This leader had worked on over 20 capital raises and had the B2B and B2C SaaS exposure the client wanted, in addition to experience leading ownership transitions at two of the largest independent investment firms in the US. This executive ramped up quickly to effectively lead  all financial aspects of the capital raise while advising the CEO and leadership team on developments throughout the process and received excellent feedback after making an early impact.
