Whether you’re a recent grad or are deeper into your career, your success in the job market depends on your ability to adapt to change. Inc. took a look at the topic in a recent article—and spoke with Business Talent Group’s CEO, Jody Miller, to get tips on how to forge a successful career in the gig economy.
Nowadays, says Miller, companies are looking for the best talent, not the best resume. Their needs are specific, so you need to be able to prove you can deliver on exactly what they need.
“No one says I need a VP of Marketing. They say, I need someone that can do social media, my brand, support for sales team. More and more managers are being specific and matching the needs of the skills that need to be performed to do it.”
To succeed in this marketplace, you don’t internships or even full-time jobs. Instead, you can build your experience through a series of low-risk, high-reward gigs.
