Implementing Range-Based Forecasting

Leah Hoffmann

A F500 pharma company’s pricing group was moving from point to range based forecasting. As the team began to update their models, they realized they needed an expert to validate plans and processes.

Previously, the team relied on a complicated Excel spreadsheet to predict annual drug unit sales for the next 20 years. Business Talent Group’s pricing expert helped them build a SQL database to house relevant internal and market data. He then created a sophisticated forecasting system that calculated statistical confidence intervals for each projection. This system also made it easier for the team to evaluate the accuracy of its predictions and update analytical inputs. The result: a powerful, easy-to-use tool for making accurate sales predictions.
