A thorough and up-to-date BTG talent profile is your key to connecting with perfect-fit projects and exciting opportunities. An effective profile provides a snapshot of your professional experience, showcases the skills you bring to projects, and provides insight into your preferences for travel, teams, and more.
If you’re already a member of the BTG independent talent community, you can create and update your profile in the BTG Talent Portal. If you haven’t joined our community yet, learn more about working with us and apply today!
Here are some things to focus on when creating your profile:
- Availability: Please update this field (a teal box in the “Resume” section) to reflect your current availability for BTG projects and remember update it often.
- Summary: This is a brief overview of your professional experience. Think of it as your elevator pitch. You might include consulting experience, industry expertise, interest areas, and/or strong character traits.
- Job History: Treat this section as your traditional resume. Include past companies, skills, roles, and accomplishments. Consider including key achievements and proven results that highlight your skills and capabilities. Do not include any confidential information.
- Industries and Skills: Select the top five industries in which you have deep experience and the top five skills you have developed that you would like to leverage on projects.
- Rate: It is important to complete this field to be considered for projects. Please review the instructions for this section within the BTG Talent Portal for further details.
- Professional Certifications and Languages: In the “Education and Experience” section, showcase your specific expertise by noting certifications, and open doors to projects in different parts of the world by highlighting languages spoken.
- Current Location: Choose up to two—the first should be your primary location, and the second can be a secondary home or a place where you can work with minimal travel.
- Independent Projects: Share independent project work to demonstrate your experience as an independent. Do not include pre-independent or traditional roles.
- Mailing Address: Your mailing address is required for compliance purposes because legal requirements for independent consultants differ by location. This field is located in the “Account Info” tab.
- Stay Current: Keep your information updated! Use the pencil icon within each section to edit your content.
Your current and detailed BTG profile is more than an online resume. It’s the best way to ensure that you are considered for projects that are a good fit for your experience, skills, and availability.
