Pharmacy Fulfillment Expansion: Becoming a One-Stop-Shop

A global F500 healthcare company wanted to begin expanding its pharmacy business to provide delivery services to patients already receiving their specialty drugs, pivoting from supplying one aspect of a patient’s medicine to becoming a one-stop-shop for all medical care needed. Company leaders had an idea and initial plan but needed a subject matter expert with a deep understanding of pharmacy fulfillment services and who had “been there, done that” in regards to pharmacy expansion.

Business Talent Group (BTG) identified and deployed a consultant who was both a practicing retail pharmacist and retail pharmacy expert—with specialized experience in providing strategic direction for high-profile pharmaceutical organizations. The talent was able to provide high-level strategic direction and pressure tested the company’s hypotheses to develop a roadmap for strategic success, drawing on her experience working for major consumer pharmacies (including Walgreens, CVS, and RiteAid) to help identify the best path forward.
