Interim HR Leader for an Unexpected Leadership Gap in Insurance

September 16, 2024 Rachel Halversen

When an HR executive went on medical leave, the Canadian arm of a major US financial services company needed a consultant to support ongoing HR operations and strategy at the business partner level. The consultant would first assess the existing underwriting training and onboarding strategy of the learning and development team, and then lead the development, implementation, and alignment of full-service HR strategy and programs while serving as a strategic partner to key internal stakeholders.

Business Talent Group (BTG) rapidly deployed an experienced human resources leader with an extensive background across all levels of the HR function in orgs of all sizes across the US and Canada. With experience in strategic HR planning, organizational development, change management, talent acquisition, and performance management, this leader was right-fit to assess and support improvement initiatives related to the function’s strategy and operations. The consultant evaluated the hiring process and advised on candidates for the division, assessed current performance management capabilities, and developed a framework for guiding pay conversations.
