A global PE firm was evaluating an acquisition target in the education industry. Concerned about the team’s lack of experience in that market, the Partner in charge of the deal contacted Business Talent Group. The goal: to find an expert who understood the market and could deliver a comprehensive report on the company’s growth potential.
We put together a two-person team to take on the work. A former McKinsey partner with extensive technology experience worked with an education industry executive to present a targeted market overview and quickly assess the viability of the target company.
The firm decided to go ahead with the deal, acquiring the company for ~$500M and selling it a few years later for a 40% YoY ROI.
