Integrating a Siloed Supply Chain Function

December 3, 2021 Summer Foote

A large footwear brand needed a supply chain expert to act as a thought partner, driving a project focused on harmonizing and integrating supply chain operations and practices. After meeting an initial goal of reaching a stable growth pattern, the company was looking to more deeply enhance processes and capabilities. The supply chain function was siloed with an absence of standard, integrated processes, KPIs, dashboards, meeting cadence, and operational practices to elevate the performance of the function. Looking to make these disparate parts more integrated, the Chief Operating and Transformation Officer reached out to Business Talent Group.

BTG delivered a former Accenture consultant with 15+ years of industry and consulting experience, with a specialization in supply chain—including strategic sourcing, supply chain strategy, operations excellence, six sigma principles and process improvement. She had experience leading numerous process improvement initiatives focused on production flow and cost reduction, operational improvements, and organizational training and development to change behaviors and processes. With deep experience in project management, strategy development, execution, and metrics definition and measurement capability, the consultant was able to provide the company with a hypothesis, analysis, recommendations, and roadmap for implementing the project.
